For bloggers that don’t quit, here how things usually go…

A blogger starts his/her blog to make money and also write about something he/she enjoys.  This blogger later realizes they’re not making that much money and so they take their knowledge and start some new sites.

These new sites are designed to make money.  For this reason, they quickly outperform the blog and make more  money than the blog ever has since it was started.  This leaves them at a crossroads – do I keep blogging?

If you only want to make money then you may not want to start a blog.

It’s probably the hardest way.  However, having a blog has a lot of nice perks.

Besides making money, blogging can:

• Give you an awesome reputation
• Help you network
• Build your resume

If you blog about a field where you might later be employed then your blog can be hugely beneficial.  You might have some new connections that will get your foot in the door and it serves as concrete evidence on a resume that you are an authority on the subject.

You should assess how much you have an interest in blogging and how much you just want to make money online.  I suggest starting a blog regardless and creating more websites as well.  Trying different things out is the only way you’ll ever really know what works best for you.
